Nokia and Nvidia built the industry's first commercial AI-RAN platform, pairing Nokia's anyRAN software with Nvidia's Aerial computing platform. The system runs radio access networks on AI chips instead of fixed hardware. Nokia expects 50% spectral efficiency gains by 2027 and over 100% by 2028. Pilots start this year, with commercial launch in 2027.
