Mistral Launches Le Chonk AI Model

French firm Mistral launches Le Chonk, a one trillion-parameter model optimized for coding and cyberdefense. Weights released on Oct. 27. The model costs 3 billion euros to develop and supports 160 languages. It aims to compete with US and China labs amid US restrictions on OpenAI and Anthropic access. Model trained on 4,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell GPUs.
