AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have launched a joint venture to nearly eliminate US mobile dead zones, using shared spectrum and direct-to-device satellite connectivity. Paul Roth is interim CEO, with a board from all three carriers. The deal follows a May agreement in principle; no timeline for customer benefits was given.
