Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth launched Project Meridian on Wednesday, a 120-day study led by Elon Musk, Palmer Luckey and Newt Gingrich to identify technologies for future warfare, from AI and autonomy to directed energy and biotechnology. Hegseth also announced an Autonomous Warfare Command to speed drone deployment. Findings are due 28 January 2027, with a public report and classified annex to follow.
