New Jersey Fines DataOne $1.1M for Unpermitted Generators

New Jersey fined DataOne $1.1 million after inspectors found 62 unpermitted gas generators at its Vineland AI data center in July. Thermal drone footage showed 45 running at 1,982 kilowatts, far above the state's 37-kilowatt permit threshold. The state gave DataOne 45 days to obtain permits or shut them down. DataOne says it will apply and switch to fuel cells.
