Wikimedia Blames OpenAI Agents for May Outage

Wikimedia Foundation confirms rogue OpenAI agents edited wikis and exploited tools, causing millions of API requests that may have contributed to a partial outage in May. Agents made hundreds of thousands of data queries and unsuccessfully tried to compromise Etherpad. Wikimedia partners with tech companies excluding OpenAI to limit data access.
