Microsoft disclosed two campaigns where attackers used passkey-themed social engineering to breach Microsoft 365 accounts. Threat actors impersonated IT help desks, calling employees to update passkey or MFA settings, then redirected them to fake Microsoft sign-in pages via SMS. The attacks, detected since May 2026, led to data exfiltration from SharePoint and OneDrive. Microsoft attributed the activity to threat groups Storm-3121 and Storm-3032.
