The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator was created by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers, neither trained in psychology. One of its four dimensions, judging versus perceiving, was their extension of Carl Jung's theory. About 50 percent of people changed classification on at least one scale in a 1979 study.
