Altera Unveils Agilex 2X AI Chips

Altera Corp. today announced Agilex 2X, a portfolio of field-programmable gate arrays aimed at artificial intelligence infrastructure. The first family, Agilex 27, targets high throughput applications with a 1.8-times improvement in performance per watt over Agilex 7. Engineering samples are expected in the second half of 2027, while software support is available now in Quartus Prime 26.3.
