GM Partners With Peak Energy for Sodium-Ion Batteries

General Motors is partnering with Denver-based Peak Energy to develop low-cost sodium-ion battery cells for energy storage systems, including data centers and homes. GM aims to establish a fully domestic supply chain for these batteries within two to three years, reducing reliance on Chinese materials like lithium. The new cells could be deployed as early as 2029.
