Xbox tests disc-to-digital game conversion feature

Microsoft is internally testing Disc2Digital, a feature that converts physical Xbox One and Series X/S game discs into permanent digital licenses. The feature surfaced in May in Xbox PC app code. It does not support Xbox 360 or original Xbox discs. Sony will stop making physical PlayStation discs in January 2028.
