Google Wallet Adds EU Digital IDs This Summer

Google Wallet will support digital IDs from select EU states this summer. Users will verify age via a new partnership with Sparkasse Bank without sharing name, address, or birth date. The process uses Zero Proof Knowledge technology introduced in April 2025. EU users can now use biometric verification for Google Pay checkouts on supported sites without one-time passcodes. Google Wallet enables direct checkout with stored payment options on EU sites.
