Heata installs rented servers in UK homes, using their waste heat to warm water and cut gas bills. The company pays for the extra electricity the servers consume. It says waste heat from one data centre could supply hot water to around 30,000 homes. Heata aims to cover about 80% of a home's heating, but only vented cylinders work.
