Sequent launches to fix AI alignment gap

Researchers from the UK AI Security Institute and Timaeus formed Sequent, a nonprofit aiming to raise $100, 150M initially. The organization targets 40, 80 employees within two years. Sequent seeks principled alignment techniques for superintelligent AI, arguing current empirical programs at labs are unlikely to deliver confidence before training.
