Hackers leverage new Microsoft SharePoint exploit in attacks

A proof-of-concept exploit for critical Microsoft SharePoint flaw CVE-2026-55040, published by Rapid7, is now used in attacks. The JWT authentication bypass lets unprivileged attackers impersonate site users or admins. Microsoft patched it in July 2026 Patch Tuesday updates for SharePoint Enterprise Server 2016 and Server 2019.
