10GbE networking is a trap for most home builds

10GbE networking offers theoretical speeds of 1,250 MB/s, but most home NAS setups cannot sustain transfers above 1,000 MB/s because disks bottleneck before the network does. The author argues raw link speed is easy, but feeding that link with sufficient storage performance is the hard part for home users.
