AWS rolls the dice for faster, more efficient networking

AWS developed Resilient Network Graphs (RNG), a random graph-based networking topology that is up to 33% faster and 40% more energy efficient than traditional hierarchical designs. The architecture avoids bottlenecks by replacing tree-like structures with random connections, though it required solving routing and cabling complexities that prevented earlier academic designs from reaching production.
