TSMC starts 1.4nm fab construction with $49B

TSMC begins preliminary construction of a 1.4-nanometer chip production line with four new fabs. The first fab targets mass production in the second half of 2028. The $49 billion investment will create 8,000 to 10,000 jobs at Taiwan's Central Science Park.
