The AI Startup Funding Boom Is Not A Global Phenomenon

U.S. companies have captured nearly 80% of global startup funding in 2026, a sharp rise from less than half before the AI boom. Nearly 88% of AI-related startup funding, or $319 billion, went to U.S.-headquartered companies, mostly OpenAI and Anthropic. China and the UK saw gains, but most other countries did not.
