Canada's second Chinese vehicle import period opened September 1, allowing 33,397 vehicles after adding unused quota from the first period. Only 15,603 hybrids and EVs arrived between March and August, 8,897 short of the 24,500 cap. Tesla, Lincoln, Lotus, and Polestar benefited early.
