EU Proposes Giving Frontex Social Media Powers

The European Commission proposed on Tuesday that Frontex, the EU border agency, monitor public social media posts regarding migration and flag illegal content for removal. EU tech chief Henna Virkkunen stated Frontex would receive an online monitoring center, while the agency's budget is set to double over the next seven years.
