Arizona's lifeline for chip manufacturing is drying up

Arizona will lose at least 760,000 acre-feet of Colorado River water annually starting in 2027 under a new federal plan. TSMC and Intel are expanding water-intensive chip fabs in the state, with TSMC's first Arizona facility using roughly 4.75 million gallons of water per day.
