X-Bat Fighter Jet Nears Vertical Takeoff

Shield AI and GE Aerospace completed ground testing of the Axisymmetric Vectoring Exhaust Nozzle (AVEN) for the X-Bat strike aircraft. The nozzle, integrated into the F110-GE-129E engine, enables vertical takeoff and landing without a runway. A flight test is planned for later this year.
