Polestar will be unable to sell new vehicles in the US starting with the 2027 model year after the US Department of Commerce denied an exemption under the Connected Vehicle Rule. Existing models like the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, plus all 2026 and earlier vehicles, can still be sold. The company plans to focus more on Europe, where 80 percent of its global sales already occur.
