American-made car list shrinks as EVs drop

Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y took the top two spots on the Cars.com American-Made Index for the sixth straight year. The overall list shrank to 86 vehicles from 99, with EV presence collapsing from 11 vehicles to just five. Automakers pulled back after the federal $7,500 tax credit expired, and tariffs plus discontinued nameplates also contributed.
