India vows to lead in foundational AI models

India will not lag behind in developing foundational AI models, said IT Secretary S Krishnan. Avataar.ai launched Varya, an indigenous AI video model under the IndiaAI Mission. The platform generates a 211-second video for every ₹100 spent and claims to be 27 times faster and cheaper than leading models.
