Microsoft is moving tens of thousands of prompts in Excel and Outlook from OpenAI and Anthropic models to its own MAI models to cut costs. The company's MAI-Thinking 1 model, with 35 billion parameters, matches Claude Opus 4.6 in coding. Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman said the goal is to eliminate Anthropic costs entirely.
