NASA X-59 Completes First Supersonic Flight

NASA flew the X-59 supersonic plane on Friday, reaching Mach 1.1 at 713 mph in an 81-minute flight. The agency aims to produce a quieter sonic thump rather than a boom. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said upcoming flights will target Mach 1.4 at 55,000 feet to test public perception over US communities.
