Nintendo to end Switch 1 sales in Europe by 2027

Nintendo will discontinue sales of the original Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED in Europe from mid-February 2027 due to an EU law requiring user-replaceable batteries in portable consoles by 2027. Revised models with replaceable batteries will roll out from summer 2026. Sales will continue outside Europe.
