The 'ultimate mosquito killer' uses lasers and AI, custom model trained to detect and lock lasers on these pests

Steven Cheng trained a custom deep learning model to detect mosquitoes using a DSLR and zoom lens. The model was built on a dataset collected over four months with a DSLR and high-magnification zoom lens. Cheng used computer vision to identify and lock onto mosquitoes for a laser artillery cannon. The setup achieved high detection accuracy in real-time scanning. This project demonstrates a scalable, AI-driven approach to pest control using off-the-shelf hardware.
