Engineer Builds AI Laser Mosquito Killer

Steven Cheng built an AI system that uses a DSLR camera and deep learning to detect mosquitoes and fires a laser cannon. The system took four months to develop and includes a wide-angle camera that cuts power to the laser if humans or flammable materials are detected. Cheng reported eliminating all mosquitoes in his home after one night of operation. The setup relies on a custom AI model trained on a large dataset of mosquito images.
