Intel Diamond Rapids to boost core counts to 192, but RIP Hyperthreading

Intel has confirmed the launch of Xeon 7 Diamond Rapids CPUs in 2027 on Intel 18A-P process technology. The processors feature a 50 percent increase in core counts compared to Xeon 6, with a maximum of 192 cores. They deliver twice the memory bandwidth and support PCIe 6.0. Intel has eliminated hyperthreading, reducing thread counts by a quarter. This marks the end of SMT support since its 2002 introduction.
