Nissan, University of Oxford and Gelion are developing a solid-state lithium-sulphur battery using nano-encapsulated sulphur cathodes. The CoRe-SoLiS project, funded by UK government, targets high energy density, fast charging and long lifespan for electric vehicles. Gelion's NES cathode is designed to be cost-effective and compatible with existing battery production lines. The project's total cost is £3.4 million, with £2.4 million from public funding.
