Bad USB-C cable, not firmware, bricked laptop

A Framework Laptop 13 with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U appeared bricked after a firmware update. The battery cycled between charging and discharging. The actual cause was a defective aftermarket 60W USB-C cable. Replacing the cable with a known-good 65W charger and cable immediately fixed the issue.
