Velan to build SMR parts plant east of Toronto

Velan Inc. plans to build a manufacturing facility in Durham Region to produce safety valves for small modular reactors. The facility will make reactor integral isolation valves and containment isolation valves. The Ontario government expects each new SMR reactor to bring up to $70 million in investment.
