
A teardown by Dave's Auto Center found metallic debris throughout the lubrication system of Toyota's twin-turbo V35A-FTS V6 engine. The contamination scored the oil pump housing and reached camshafts and hydraulic lash adjusters. Toyota had blamed machining debris for replacing thousands of engines in Tundra, Sequoia, and Lexus LX 600 models.
