Sun Could Unleash Catastrophic Superflares, Study Finds

Researchers led by Natalie Krivova analyzed NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory data from 2010 to 2016 and found the Sun's largest historical sunspots could theoretically produce superflares, extreme bursts capable of collapsing power grids and destroying satellites.
