Anthropic Ships Claude Opus 5.5, Cuts API Prices

Anthropic launched Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in its Claude 5.5 family, claiming Fable 5.1-level capability at 40% lower cost than Opus 5. It is now the default in Claude Code and the Claude app, with token prices cut 20% to $4/$20 per million input/output tokens. OpenAI released GPT-6 Sol and Luna about an hour later.
