Following user outcry, AMD reinstates memory encryption in consumer CPUs

AMD will restore Transparent Secure Memory Encryption (TSME) to consumer Ryzen processors in a firmware update next month. The company silently removed the protection, which encrypts memory against physical attacks like cold boot, from lower-end chips. User outcry on social media forced the reversal.
