Black Founders Turn to Investing to Fix VC

Only $942 million, or 0.32% of total U.S. venture funding, went to startups with a Black founder last year, down more than two-thirds from three years prior. Some Black founders, like Clarence Bethea of Upsie, have become investors to help level the playing field after experiencing arduous fundraising processes.
