KARR car alarm flaw exposes 2 million vehicles to hacking

UC San Diego researchers found that the KARR Security System, an aftermarket car alarm installed in over 2 million US vehicles by dealers, has a Bluetooth vulnerability. Any hacker within range can unlock, track, or disable the ignition. Acrisure Protection Group released a firmware patch after 18 months.
