Mistral AI released Mistral Large 4, nicknamed Le Chonk, as a public preview on 6 October 2026. The granular Mixture of Experts model features 1.05 trillion total parameters and 49 billion active per token. It includes a 1.6 billion parameter vision encoder and a 1 million token context window. Training utilized 3,800 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs within Mistral's European datacenters.
