Meta launches VR glasses and hearing aid glasses

Meta unveiled $1,299 VR glasses weighing 100 grams, set for spring 2027 release, and turned its AI glasses into FDA-cleared over-the-counter hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss. Mark Zuckerberg announced both at Meta Connect, shifting focus from metaverse to personal AI via Muse. The VR glasses use Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, micro-OLED displays, and a pocket puck for processing, offering up to three hours of video playback. They are IMAX Enhanced certified and will stream 3D content from Disney+, HBO Max, Peacock, and Paramount+. Over 100 immersive live sports events yearly are planned with ESPN and UFC. Hearing enhancement lets users take a guided test in-app to tune audio amplification.
