Researchers found Google ads pushing a tech support scam that freezes Windows and Mac screens with urgent phone-call warnings. The ads ran on maps, weather, real-estate, document-hosting and sports sites. Netskope observed users from 619 organizations click between August 31 and September 14. Victims who called were pressured to pay fees, grant remote access or share personal data.
