KDE Developer Announces Kwi Terminal

KDE developer Eike Hein announced today the development of Kwi, a new KDE terminal emulator offering 3x to 35x faster performance than Konsole. The project uses Ghostty's libghostty-vt library and supports GPU acceleration via OpenGL or Vulkan. Currently experimental, Kwi has seen limited testing by a small circle of friends and lacks a tagged v0.1.0 release.
