Nineteen cars sent traffic to third parties including Google, Meta, and Adobe; seven apps leaked VINs, emails, phone numbers, and precise location. Pairing an app to a car roughly doubled ad and tracking exposure. Most automakers blamed others or consumers; Honda improved practices.
