Sony goes digital-only by 2028

Sony will sell only digital versions of PlayStation games through retailers and the PlayStation Store starting January 2028. More than one in four PS5 consoles sold in the US since launch are digital-only models, up from 18% in October 2024. Sony is also removing 551 previously purchased StudioCanal films from user libraries in September due to licensing agreements.
