Samsung Electronics created a new robotics division called RX, or Robotics eXperience, reporting directly to CEO Roh Tae-moon. Executive Vice President Lee Dong-kun, formerly of Hyundai Motor Group and Boston Dynamics, leads the strategy team. Samsung plans to manufacture humanoid robots this year, investing 19 trillion won ($13 billion) in a Gumi facility, and will open research hubs in the US, China, and Japan.
