Samsung 990 SSD slower, costs more than 990 Pro

Samsung announced a non-Pro 990 SSD for 2026 at $270 for 1TB and $530 for 2TB, slower than the original 990 Pro from 2022. The 990 Pro also saw price hikes to $320 for 1TB and $640 for 2TB. Component costs driven by AI industry demand caused the increases.
