Self-hosted NotebookLM alternative tested for a week

A self-hosted alternative to NotebookLM was set up and used for a full week. The setup required Docker containers, reverse proxies, and environment variables. Despite some rough edges, the alternative performed well enough to make switching away from NotebookLM a serious consideration.
